The Walking Dead

I've just started reading this- I'm up to issue 12 now, and have to say I'm enjoying it tremendously. It's one of my infrequent forays outside the superhero world (I read the sci fi one off Ocean the other day) and sort of makes me think I should read more.

The human side of it all is ace and it has zombies :D

Got the first book for my housemate at Christmas, along with Prince of Darkness on DVD. He's into his zombies, he's even in a zombie band. I was quite surprised he had never heard of PoD, let alone seen it, so I was quite chuffed I found one zombie flick he needed to watch.

From what I've read, I've liked it and has artwork that even spanky wouldn't tear to pieces on first sight. :P

It's a bit scabby and where's the colour? :D

I got a loan of this off kalel, still trying to read it, sorry to say this but i've got kinda bored of the whole zombie thing. I'm goin back to Dan Dare! Actually i made that sound like that would be in the future when in actual fact i'm already there. Dan Dare rocks... well foxtrots!

Bored of zombies? That's crazy talk. Walking Dead is one of the better zombie comics out there, I've read a few that weren't... great. Will have to dig out one of the other ones I have, the artwork is really nice but the story is pants.

I think Andrew Lincoln's a great actor though it will take time to get used to him as an American but this looks really really great.

I was sold as soon as someone said "Walking Dead TV series".

It being done by Frank Darabont sold it to me. That said, the trailer hasn't got me convinced yet. Not because it looks to be a bad adaptation, but because in film form the content of the comic seems to show itself up as being more than a bit cheesy and overdone.

I know TWD is all about the long haul though, so I'll reserve judgment until it hits DVD/BluRay next year

Don't know if I'll ever buy Egg as Rick though ;-)
