Youngest solo flyer in Britain says Xbox helped his skills

Obviously he's been playing a lot of... some flying game (any suggestions?)
James Coyne-Downhill, from Hampshire, has become the youngest pilot to fly solo in Britain at the age of 16, and he attributes his premature skills to being handy with videogames.

James isn't even old enough to drive, but that didn't stop him making his first solo flight on his 16th birthday, earning him the British record. Gaming has played a strong part in his ability to fly so well: James's instructor claims that such ability is thanks to the dexterous skills of the "Xbox generation". The instructor said: "[Schoolboys] tend to pick it up more quickly than adults. But that's the Xbox generation - their hand-eye coordination is better."

James agrees that the Xbox helped him with the skills needed to fly, saying "I do love to play computer games and always go on the Xbox when I'm round friend's houses. I do think it's helped me with my hand-eye coordination - our generation is very lucky in that way.

His mum agrees: "Like all boys his age, he plays computer games all the time. His instructor said it might actually have helped him with the flying, so I'm pleased it's finally been put to good use."

So there you have it, kids. If your parents ever get on your case about playing [I can't think of any Xbox plane games - insert your own if you're into that kind of thing], just tell 'em that you're training to become a pilot. But seriously, don't play too much. And do your homework, for cripes sake.

Maybe the little bugger learned how to fly that horrible little plane (the dodo) in GTA 3. If you can get that sucker off the ground you'll have no problems in a real plane
